Southwest (2024) is a visual love letter to the colors, textures, and energy of the American Southwest. Created on a 12×12” metal tile, this mixed media piece—part of Lisa Cerny’s Santa Fe Series—features rich layers of handmade papers, magazine fragments, fabric, trim, dried flowers, gold foil, and clear gel.

Turquoise blues, sun-warmed yellows, and earthen tones echo the spirit of desert skies, adobe walls, and the resilience of life in dry places. The inclusion of dried blue flowers adds a delicate contrast—symbolizing growth and beauty even in harsh conditions—while gold foil glimmers like desert sunlight.
